The team of the Association of Legal Clinics of Ukraine has developed within the All-Ukrainian project of The Advising Consumers of Financial Services the guidelines for training on practical law, Street law: Protection of Consumer Rights in Financial Services Sector.
The presented guidelines are the result of law literacy classes carried out by the legal clinics of higher education institutions for consumers of financial services. Materials included in the publication were tested in the course of the First in Ukraine Innovative Festival of Practical Law Fin $kills dedicated to protect consumer rights in the sector of financial services and to financial awareness as was held by the Association of Legal Clinics of Ukraine in July 2020 backed by the USAID Financial Sector Transformation Project.
The Street Law Guidelines are the result of law literacy classes on protection of consumer rights in financial services carried out by the legal clinics of higher education institutions to ensure:
- professional training for tutors, teachers, representatives of public sector, and law students by means of the interactive techniques for teaching the law,
- increased legal awareness of population through interactive law literacy events,
- development of innovation programs in practical law in cooperation with governmental authorities, national and international human rights organizations, and higher educational institutions.
The team of the Association of Legal Clinics of Ukraine believes that the publication presented will advance improvement of quality and increase in productivity of law literacy classes though development of skills in using interactive techniques for teaching the law, namely Street Law techniques.
The Guidelines are published with support of the United States Agency for International Development subject to terms and conditions of the Treaty with the Association of Legal Clinics of Ukraine within the grant provided by the USAID Financial Sector Transformation Project.
